In Cairo, Egypt, in 1959, under the name United Foods Company, the late Agamemnon Paraskevas launched Tag ElMelouk Food Industries. In a 100 square meter workshop in Cairo's Boulac district, he established the registered COOK'S brand, which promptly became a household name in Egypt. The business, which has facilities spanning 9000 square meters and moved from Boulac to 6th October Industrial City in 1985, has developed over three generations under the ownership and management of the same family to become one of the top companies in the Egyptian food industry. In 1995, Mr. Philippe Paraskevas handed over management of the business to the second generation. Under his direction, the company introduced the Tag ElMelouk brand, which went on to take over the market and become known for its entire line of goods. The corporation oversaw the building and 1997 opening of a second facility in 6th October City that was 13000 square meters in size in addition to the original facilities, which are still in use. Additionally, it improved its infrastructure, production, and management systems. While providing cutting-edge packaging and high-quality innovations to the Egyptian food market, the company under this generation strengthened and increased its market share in line with the original values. In 2011, the third generation acquired control of the company, following the tradition of a legacy being passed down from father to son
